Avre Friday briefing #78

We Have Ways Fest 2026

We've spent this week preparing to exhibit some of our fine apparel at We Have Ways Festival 2026 this weekend. We've dusted off the gazebo and have spent the week calling in stock from up and down the country. It's felt somewhat like a local DHL depot at home for most of the week.

Batch No. 5

The exciting news is that we have 4 fully fledged prototypes of our new release, Batch No. 5 to show. It's the first camo piece we've done (hint hint), and we're thrilled at how it's come out. We'll be changing the design of the camo slightly from the prototypes, but the shape, fabric and trims are all a perfect match to the original.

Vat 01

We're also packing our very special Vat 01 - our 15 year old blended malt whisky, in both 70cl and 5cl versions. See if you can find Al and/ or Jim at the festival who may or may not have a couple of miniatures secreted about their person.

Batch No. 2

We'll also have the very last of Batch No 2., the 1941 British Denim Smock, including a single unit of the Original edition, no. 101 / 1805 (below, right). We'll also have a handful of the Reinvented version with the full zip (below, left).

Batch No. 3

In addition, we'll have some of Batch No.3, our US Navy Shawl Collar Denim Shirt which, as it happens is a perfect shoulder season piece. Just right for now, when the weather is on the turn.

Batch No. 4

Not only will we have Batch Nos 2, 3, an early version of Batch No. 5 and our whisky, but we'll also have a fully finished version of Batch No. 4, our unique Battledress Blouse. Only 100 garments will ever be made of this one. Jim and Al are wearing theirs in the video above, plus we'll have one on the stand this weekend.

Each one is made bespoke to order and inside the collar you'll find the lining is made from a genuine piece of Allied parachute silk. So if you'd like to own a literal piece of history and you're at WHW this weekend, come along and we'll get you measured up.
