Batch No. 4 Production

The Battledress Blouses are still in work. As each is cut to an individual set of measurements, each has its own set of patterns. Below you can see how we lay each set of patterns out on paper before cutting the pattern pieces by hand. Once the paper pieces are ready, we roll out the fabric and lay the pieces out over the top. Then the fabric is cut by hand and stacked along with the order sheet ready for the next step which is sewing. 

We Have Ways Fest - next week

We'll be at the Blackpit Brewery for We Have Ways Fest next week on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th September. If you're coming to the festival, do come and say hi. We'll have plenty of kit to see and try on, including Batch Nos. 2, 3 and 4 and our Operation Chariot Vat 01 blended malt whisky.

On this day - Antwerp 4th September 1944

Eighty-two years ago today, the British 11th Armoured Division successfully liberated the city of Antwerp. Despite taking the city and liberating the people, the port's strategic value was nullified because the 50 mile Scheldt estuary, leading to the North Sea, remained in German hands. The ensuing Battle of the Scheldt was a series of operations that opened up the river between Antwerp and the North Sea so Antwerp's port could be used to supply the Allies in north-west Europe. Led by the First Canadian Army and supported by Polish and British units it ran until 8th November 1944. Once the port was opened, it allowed many tons of supplies to arrive between November 1944 and April 1945, which were critical to the successful Allied advance into Germany in 1945.
