Avre Friday Briefing #40
Batch #2 - Closed Ahead of Schedule

This week started with a milestone: we closed Batch #2 on Monday, slightly ahead of our original schedule, as we'd maximised the fabric allocation.
Sorry to those of you who missed out. If you missed the window, we're operating a waitlist and in parallel working with our suppliers to get more fabric. There's also a chance we can squeeze a few more orders into this run once we've optimised the cutting plan. If you're still interested, drop us an email at hello@avreind.com and we'll add you to the list.
Cutting Strategy - The Jigsaw Puzzle
Since Monday afternoon, we've been working out the cutting strategy. With 1km of fabric, and 16 pattern pieces per jacket, it's essentially a massive jigsaw puzzle. The goal is to maximise what we can make while minimising waste - every inch counts!

We've also been designing and sampling labels this week, ordering trims, and keeping all the production details on track for January shipping.
More Whisky Please!
The whisky collaboration is also progressing. Lots of ideas flowing, along with the odd dram. More news to share soon.
And while we're on the subject, there's still time to get your Christmas orders in for our exclusive VAT #01 - a very much one of its kind Blended Malt whisky honouring Operation Chariot.
Al and the Matilda II
This week Al was at The Tank Museum in Bovington getting properly acquainted with the Matilda II - surely Britain's Most Underrated WW2 Tank? Along with the museum's historian James Donaldson, he explored its legendary armour, combat history from France 1940 through North Africa, and the engineering that made it strategically important during the war. Worth a watch if you're into WW2 armour.
Batch #2 - Garment Care Guide

This week we added a garment care section to the smock product pages. If you're a Batch #2 customer wondering how best to look after your smock once it arrives, visit the Batch #2 product page here, for proper care instructions or alternatively:

Batch #3 - Cooking up Something Special

We've also been deep into planning for Batch #3. Can't share all the details yet, but this one's going to be special. We're working on the patterns, choosing fabrics, and working through the technical challenges. More on this very soon.
