AVRE Friday Briefing #26

REORG Collab — first sample in hand

A big milestone this week: the very first REORG collaboration sample landed in the studio. We have some exciting news to release with Sam Sheriff the founder of ReOrg in a couple of weeks time.

Brisbane Moss — remaking 1940s cloth in Britain

At the London fabric show earlier this year we brought along our original 1940 Smock. Brisbane Moss’ MD John took one feel of the garment, vanished for a minute, and came back with news: they made this fabric back in the 1940s — and can remake it for us today. That’s the level of authenticity going into Batch #2: the cloth is being rewoven here in the UK, to original character and weight.

Listen this weekend — We Have Ways: “Hiroshima: VJ Day”

James Holland, Al Murray and John McManus explore the end of the war in the Pacific — VJ Day, leadership at the finish, and the surrender aboard USS Missouri. A timely, thoughtful listen.

From WW2 HQ — Why US Soldiers Loved These WW2 Guns

A sharp breakdown of kit that earned real affection in the field — including the M1 Garand and the M3 “Grease Gun.” Worth ten minutes with a coffee.
