Avre Friday Briefing #17

Avre Friday Briefing #17

Batch #1 Update

We were at the studio in Greenwich again this week to check in on how production is coming along for the General Release orders from Batch #1. It's always great to see the M1941s taking shape and the team making steady progress through the order book. Everything's on track for shipping to begin in early August.

Batch #2 Progress

It's been a busy week on the Batch #2 front. We've signed off the final toile and are now deep into sourcing the trims. This involved visiting multiple suppliers across London this week, hunting for exact matches to the original specifications.

This week we also got our hands on the fabric for Batch #2 for the first time. We're thrilled with the colour and finish - the mill have done a great job. Here's a sneak peek.

We also met with the lovely people of YKK in Shoreditch this week to discuss our requirements for Batch #2. If we're honest, the amount of options was quite overwhelming, but the team were on hand to expertly guide us through.

We should have finished samples in hand today (Friday)... we can't wait to see how everything comes together.

Looking Ahead to Batch #3

Now that Batch #2 samples are ready, we're already thinking ahead to the end of the year and what Batch #3 might hold. The research and development process for each batch takes time when you're committed to getting every detail right.

What we're listening to

This week we've been listening to Titanic, Ship of Dreams on Noiser. We love the meticulous attention to detail in how they've reconstructed those final hours. Every rivet, every decision, every human story - it all matters. The podcast doesn't shy away from the complexity of what happened that night, and the way they've pieced together those final moments from survivor accounts is pretty awesome. Definitely worth a listen if you haven't already.
