Avre Friday Briefing #13

Avre Friday Briefing #13

What are we up to?

It's been a busy week for the team.

Reflecting on the VE day 80th Anniversary

James and Al have been reflecting on the work they did for the BBC during the VE day celebrations, including their interview with the British Prime Minister, Sir Kier Starmer. Definitely worth seeking it out their `We Have Ways` podcast if you haven't already.

Pitching Avre to Richard Branson

Meanwhile, Jim recently made a rather amusing pitch to Richard Branson for AVRE. Watch here.

Planning for order fulfilment

As for Pete, he's been hard at work ensuring that orders are actually ready to go out to customers. From dealing with suppliers, to learning about corrugated flutes, to designing unboxing, we're leaving no stone unturned.

Where we're eating

This week, we had the pleasure of dining at Empire Empire in Notting Hill. If you're in London for the evening or live here, it's absolutely worth a visit. Empire Empire is a Disco-themed Indian restaurant that celebrates food, art, and music. Picture jukeboxes, polaroids, murals, and the heartwarming touch of comforting Indian food. It's a delightful experience that we highly recommend.

What we're reading

Currently on the nightstand is "The Siege" by Ben Macintyre. It meticulously details the harrowing events of the siege of Leningrad during World War II, bringing to life the resilience and determination of the people who endured one of the most brutal sieges in history.

What we're looking forward to

We can't wait for We Have Ways fest 2025. Veterans, experts, authors, talks, music, entertainment, kids go free.

What's not to like?!
